We offer a wide portfolio of services which includes:
We are a new, independent, company that accumulates cutting edge expertise in Earth Observation and remarkable experience in the provision of state-of-the-art EO products and services of our founding members and personnel.
Monitoring disastrous phenomena before and after an event, including flood modelling, flood extent monitoring and mapping, flood modelling, geophysical hazards, monitoring of critical infrastructure, early warning of vector transmitted diseases as well as designing the appropriate mitigation measures.
Advanced technical capacities in the development of tailored Earth Observation (EO) based services for agriculture monitoring, addressing the diverse thematic areas of food security, monitoring of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and smart/precision farming. Production of state-of-the-art algorithms as well as machine learning and AI techniques.
Integrated atmospheric models provide forecasting services related to natural environmental disasters, such as smoke dispersion associated with forest fires, volcanic ash advection and desert dust outbreaks.
Studies related to nowcasting systems and short-term forecasting systems for solar energy exploitation using advanced technical capacities of Earth Observation (EO) based services in combination with scientific measurement and neural network modeling.
Activities related to market analysis, definition of business models, drafting business plans, proposal writing, Intellectual Property Management, Commercialization of research via technical co-design of EO products and applications with the dissemination on state-of-the-art solutions for a broad range of domains, integrating scientific, social and economic values.
Experience record and expertise in all the managerial aspects along with the required excellence for the organization of numerous successful capacity building actions, workshops and user oriented training seminars.
Provision of consultancy services to policy makers and private sector towards the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (e.g., linked to food security, clean energy, citizen welfare, sustainable cities, cultural heritage), but also the implementation of cross sector value added chains in support to Energy (renewables), Agriculture (farming/smart farming), Insurance, and Tourism sectors.
It makes people understand the added value of the EO-based solution and makes them step up and take advantage of every bit of the application. Hence, EDGE’s vision is to make all kinds of scientific applications reach their real market. EDGE’s personnel has gained extensive experience in the design, implementation, management and commercialization of R&D and innovation EO projects at national and EU levels, through participation in several Horizon 2020, FP7, and national projects.
EMPROS objective is the development of a West Nile Virus (WNV) surveillance and early warning system by leveraging Earth Observation data derived from new generation satellites and advanced information technologies. EDGE assists in the implementation of applications and the use of infrastructure in the cloud. EDGE builds on its experience in developing tools for optimal data recovery, processing and geospatial analysis, retrieval, interpretation, harmonization, storage and graphical representation of epidemiological data using historical data relating to human cases. EDGE is responsible for the creation of a WebGIS and a platform with integrated services and interfaces. Finally, EDGE is also responsible for Training Report and Implementation Guide.
H2020 project EIFFEL is a game changer in the domain of climate change adaptation and mitigation by harvesting the benefits of the GEOSS data. The project offers to the Earth Observation community the ground-breaking capacity of exploiting existing GEOSS datasets and also builds upon prior knowledge, with minimal new data collection activities. Added-value services interoperable with GEOSS are to be designed, using cognitive search and metadata augmentation tools based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). EDGE mainly participates in: i) the co-design process and transform user needs into data requirements from sentinel hub; ii) delivering to the pilots the needed data stemming from the Sentinel Hub App; iii) assisting other research activities.
Firelogue project builds on different formats to process the existing WildFire Risk Management (WFRM) knowledge and innovations as developed by the Innovation Actions (IAs) to translate them into the Firelogue platform. The Firelogue platform together with Communication Booster services, such as brokering expertise disseminates the insights and technologies developed by the IAs and integrated by the Firelogue project. Firelogue also aims to: (1) deconstruct conflicting and synergizing goals, interests, mandates, policies and practices existing in WFRM; (2) identify real or perceived injustices linked to these conflicts; (3) provide a space for deliberating on these conflicts and synergies in a just and inclusive way, in order to (4) co-develop integrated strategies to overcome these conflicts. EDGE leads WP6 Dissemination and insight upscaling and more specifically the communication plan, the promotional activities, the user engagement and the Communication Booster. EDGE also contributes significantly to Stakeholder engagement and Knowledge exchange for the support dimension and more specifically co-leads the task about Technology Market Place and leads the task referred Joint Publication and White Paper Development. EDGE finally contributes to the Common impact assessment.
